At least 3 killed, 14 injured in mass shooting at New Mexico park (X/@ArtCandee)
There was a tragic mass shooting at Young Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Friday evening, killing at least three and injuring 14. The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m., with police officers racing to the area where they found various victims. Those injured were rushed to hospitals nearby, such as the University Medical Center in El Paso, which is the trauma center for the area.
The Las Cruces Police Department, along with state and federal agencies such as the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, is actively pursuing the case. The public has been requested by authorities to provide any videos or information which can help identify the suspect or suspects.

The police department continues to be on site, attempting to reconstruct the circumstances under which the shooting took place.
Las Cruces City Councilor and Mayor Pro Tem Johana Bencomo shared her shock and sadness, calling the tragedy a "nightmare just waiting to come true at any moment." Bencomo recognized that, regretfully, such things have become far too familiar, keeping communities on edge, constantly praying and hoping that they never will have to endure such an atrocity.
